Why $49.1 million towards endometriosis healthcare simply isn't enough
In semester one of my third year, 2024, I undertook the Newsroom Practice unit wherein students gain extensive practical experience in radio and television journalism. In the final weeks of this unit, students are required to produce their own news package featuring an issue of their choice.
My story focuses on the 2024 Federal Budget (which was topical at the time of production) and its financial pledge of $49.1 million dollars to women's healthcare, particularly targeting endometriosis research and treatment. I am also honoured to share that my package was elected to air on RMIT's live news television program, Newsline. You can watch the full news program here.
